It's all over now, ...

this will be the last lines i write here in sweden (at least for some time). After my last two exams this week there were more occassions to say goodbye and farewell. So once again to Hagen, Guisy, Ljuba, Pieter, Tanja, Stefan, Antonia, Hermann, Vanessa, Stefan, Lissy, Liam, Sara, Hendrik, Jonna and everyone else I forgot here: i'm very happy to get to know you, hope to see you again at some point of time. And before I forget it: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

winter depression

The last couple of days have been quite depressing, that is because of three different reasons: firstly, it's been raining every day, secondly in Austria everything isn't exactly running according to plan and thirdly, and most importantly now the time to say farewell (not goodbye, sry Andrea Bocelli) has come. Pieter "Mr. Fluffy-Kanelbullar" from Belgium left yesterday, as well as Ljuba from Russia. I'm not the best guy at doing this and therefore I felt pretty sad. The fact that two exams are coming up doesn't help my mood either.

One of the things that get my mind off those things is (and I think I've mentioned it before) cooking. Tried to make home-made pasta the other day and it worked out pretty good, ok, it isn't rocket-science. Just add a whole egg for every 100 g of durum wheat flour and bring it together to a dough. Let it rest for at least half an hour and then roll it out, so that you can regognize a newspaper's headlines under it. Nice thing, that.

Very rewarding I must say, the whole procedure takes about half an hour (whitout the resting time) and tastes way better than the stuff from the supermarket. Although I have to admit that I'm not sure what a genuine Italian mama would say about that.

Moreover, my good friend Mimie came across the other day, to save me from everyday life :-) She made a stop here in Lund on her way back to her home Stockholm. I showed her a little around and afterwards we had a nice chat over a cup of coffee. Thanks for that!

Another thing that helps to set the mood is of course partying and that's precisely what we will do this evening. A huge farewell-party is coming up, therfore I have to get back at my books now, so more about that soon. A and for the record, haven't heard "Last Christmas" a single time yet and I feel very, very good about that :-)

the good, the bad and the ugly

Hitchcock, Grant, Hepburn, Lumet, Welles, Stewart and the likes are the good ones at the moment, they give me a break in between learning sessions. Hatch, Kärreman, Sveningson, Senge, Sadler are the bad ones, because they wrote articles I have to learn for next weeks exams. Mats "fu***n" Alvesson is the ugly one, because he wrote 4 articles and on top of that articles that are just completely senseless (at least to me, but that happens ocassionaly with th subjects of culture and leadership). If somebody mentions the name of this guy after the 21st (that is when I return to Austria) I will probably slap him. And now, back to the old movie retrospective - "Rear Window" is on, and I'm thrilled to find out who's the killer :-)

virtual friends

I never really got into myspace so I guess I'm lagging a little behind... anyways, just came across this page here, which let's you buy gorgeous looking friends for your myspace-page. You can choose between many different people and even customise a daily message for your textbox (or whatever it is called). Lovely reference on the page as well "FakeYourSpace changed my online life. I've never been so popular in my life" :-) I know that there's a lot of money behind myspace but how cheap is that *rofl*

fight for your right....

not to party in this case (because there's plenty of it anyways), but for fair grading. first time ever for me that I appealed to a grade. Found myself in that situation after getting back the exam from Management Consulting. I was really surprised that I haven't passed this one (by a mere 4 points) but after decent preparation to build my case the other night and some hours of sleep I was off to the lion's den. I gave my opening speech, fired away my arguments and finally nailed the responsible guy. Just like Kevin Lomax. Not 4 more years, but 4 more points in my case and there we go - next stop Volksanwalt :-) BTW, Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.
